August 10, 2012: Heyyy, look who's back after five months! Not that this means I'll still be kicking around much after this, but I can at least be bothered, for once, to update the main page. I'd like to note, however, that just because this page doesn't change doesn't mean nothing is happening around here, it just means that a single user has other things to do.
April 11, 2012: So apparently I am incapable of maintaining anything and forgot to update again for these new months. ._____. I'll do it now; April isn't even half-over yet, anyway, so it should be okay. March 4, 2012: I've been panicking since yesterday because I forgot to update the main page for March… and then I remembered we went bimonthly. Whoops!
February 1, 2012: Happy belated New Year everyone! I hope 2012 is treating you well so far. C: December 1, 2011: The wiki has moved from a monthly to a bi-monthly update basis, so the featured article and poll for this month will last through January. c: The old system was a bit too time consuming and too frequent for this wiki.

Higurashi News
June 27, 2011 - A special treat to those who live in Japan and/or are going to visit very soon! Oyashirosama.com has announced that it'll be holding a little Twitter contest. Winners will be picked randomly, and the prize is to meet Nakahara Mai (Rena Ryuuguu’s seiyuu) and Higurashi Kira director Tachibana Hideki at a secret location. You have to have a Twitter account following their Higurashi anime account named higu_anime, and you have to tweet just once: 『ひぐらし煌』twitter先行試写会参加希望 #higu_kira
The drawing closes July 3rd at 6PM, and the winners will be notified with the location on July 5th at 6PM.When you arrive, you must bring proof of winning the contest. Don't miss out! Also, Bandai Channel has announced that, on June 30th, it will livestream the 1st episode of Batsukoishi-hen to 800 free members living in Japan. Should you happen to somehow strip the episode from the livestream, please do not upload it anywhere so quickly. Frontier Works has currently been on a copyright-infringement spree, deleting many Higurashi-related videos and banning many uploader accounts. Episodes of Kai, Ni and Rei have already been completely removed from Youtube. Even videos that have a very small number of views are getting removed. Upsetting them any further will only serve to cause trouble for fansubbing groups planning to work on Kira. June 26, 2011 - Frontier Works has announced that a new character song album titled "Nipah Nipah Ondo" will be released at Comiket 80 (August 12, 2011) to celebrate the successful launch of Higurashi Kira's first arc, Batsukoishi-hen. Released along with that at Frontier Works' booth is the DJCD "Waraibanashi-hen" (lit. "Funny Stories arc"), starring Nakahara Mai (Rena's seiyuu) and Yuu Kobayashi (Satoshi's seiyuu). Previous episodes have been livestreamed in the past, but now you can own a tangible form of it, including more than just a few extras on the CD! Should you miss out on Comiket 80, these will be up for online ordering on September 14th. Also, on September 22nd, a CD containing the full versions of "Happy! Lucky! Dochy!" and "100% Magical Star" (theme song for the 2nd Kira arc) will be up for ordering. June 11th, 2011 - A 2nd PV has been released for Kira's 1st arc, Batsukoishi-hen! Behold: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7uISaCbS-8 May 30th, 2011 - Oyashirosama.com has released information about the 2nd arc this time! According to the File 02 page, this arc will be heavily based on the anime "Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica". A new threat to Hinamizawa has appeared in the form of a mysterious organization named "Tokyo Magica". Rika will transform into "Oyashiro Rika" in order to fight them. Also, Rika's, Hanyuu's, and Satoko's seiyuus will be singing this arc's theme song, titled "100% Magical Star". May 14th, 2011 - The Kira page on http://www.oyashirosama.com/web/kira/ has completely changed its layout. You can now view the story summaries of the arcs, the CV art of the characters, the product information of each DVD / Bluray set, as well as the news and tweets from Ryukishi07 and DEEN! May 12th, 2011 - A 36minute radio broadcast by the Higurashi seiyuus has been released on Nicovideo! Turn up your volume, and you might also be able to listen to the full version of "Happy! Lucky! Dochy!" in the background. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm14426837 April 28th, 2011 - The first PV for the new season Kira has been released! This PV is specifically for File 01 Batsukoishi-hen, a fanservice arc that DEEN originally created as an OVA extra for Kai, but removed, per request by Ryukishi07, due to irrelevancy. The PV also features a bit of Kira's opening song "Happy! Lucky! Dochy!". Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pd3bkYbZ-8 |
