Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei, also known as When they cry 2.5, is a bonus disc released after Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai. It contains three arcs, known as the "Extra/Bonus Arcs." The game was released at Comiket 71, on December 31, 2006.

It was followed by 07th Expansion's next major work, When they cry 3, more commonly known as Umineko no Naku Koro ni.

For a long time, this was the final Higurashi Sound Novel content by Ryuukishi07, before the release of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Hō 8 years later.

English Release

Rei was never officially translated, however, with the recent english re-release of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai by MangaGamer on 2020, it is likely that Rei will have its first english release within the next few years.
