Kaidan to Odorō, Soshite Anata wa Kaidan de Odoru (怪談と踊ろう、そしてあなたは階段で踊る, roughly We Shall Dance With Ghost Stories, Thus You Dance in the Stairway) is a novel by Ryukishi07 that was serialized in Faust magazine in 2005. The title is a pun that relies on the homophone kaidan, which can denote "ghost story" or "staircase" depending on the kanji used to write it.
A manga adaptation, written by Ryukishi07 and drawn by Nozawa Beam, ran in Monthly Shōnen Sirius KC from March to October of 2007.
The story takes place in Shishibone City in the same universe as Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, but in a different time period. The plot heavily involves urban legends and school ghost stories, and can possibly be considered a prototype of Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni.
