The Three Great Families (御三家・Gosanke) are the Sonozaki Family, the Kimiyoshi Family, and the Furude Family. The Three Great Families are said to have inherited the "blood of the demons" the strongest and have therefore had a powerful influence over the village since ancient times. In Kagebōshi-hen, it was revealed that the family names are related to different words. "Furude" is related to the word "divination", "Sonozaki" is related to "intestines" and "Kimiyoshi" is related to the word "demons".
