Answer Arc music replacements

Question Arc music | Answer Arc music

Notes:

  • The names and filenames in the "original" column are taken from the 2006 Matsuribayashi-hen music room and filesystem (all translations are my own). Tracks with English/romaji names are sometimes formatted differently in album releases or console ports - for instance, different capitalisation, half-width vs full-width characters, or added/removed spaces ("Big Bear" on Kai OST, "Soulscour" in Sui/Hou). More noticeably, some tracks may use abbreviated names ("C-examination" in Kizuna/Sui/Hou, "you (M.Box)", "古", "祝祭", "鼓動", "胎動" and "C-examination" on Kai OST) or romaji conversions ("utu" on Kai OST, "kage" in Sui/Hou).
  • Some in-game tracks are different from their album releases. In particular, the i…

Question Arc music replacements

Question Arc music | Answer Arc music

Notes:

  • The names and filenames in the "original" column are taken from the 2004 Himatsubushi-hen music room and filesystem (all translations are my own). Most AIDIA track names match the ones used in the audio pack they were acquired from, but LOOP131.WAV is missing its original name of "人食い族" (Cannibal Tribe / Hitokuizoku), and the song originally named "Sunset" has been given the name of a similar track, "オレンジ色の時" (Orange-Coloured Time / Orenji-iro no Toki). In addition, while this name is spelled correctly on the music selection screen, it is misspelled as "オレンジ色の詩" (Orange-Coloured Poem / Orenji-iro no Shi) in the track details. Meanwhile, most of the Koji Kusanagi tracks are formatted differently (the …

Hanyuu's origins etc (Kotohogushi-hen excerpts)

Here are my translations of relevant scenes from the Switch version of Kotohogushi-hen. Keep in mind that Kotohogushi-hen was originally a short story by Kanou Kiichi (the lead Alchemist author) and nearly all of these details were added in the VN version by Nakamura Shinsuke, so they don't necessarily agree with Ryukishi07's view of Hanyuu (in fact, Kotohogushi-hen tends to conflict with the few details we do get about her in Matsuribayashi-hen, and is probably outright incompatible with Kamikashimashi-hen). The console ports also add a note just before the Kakera Tsumugi section to point out that Kotohogushi-hen is based on parts of Hanyuu's memories that have been sealed away and altered over time, so even when taken on its own, it's no…

Higurashi character birthdays and ages

TL;DR: Ryukishi07 says Rika and Satoko are sixth-graders and the other kids are middle schoolers. Their implied ages on June 19 1983 are 11 for Rika and Satoko, 13 for Rena, 14 for Keiichi and Mion/Shion, and 15 for Satoshi. The anime, manga and console ports support these ages, but the live-action movies and TV drama aged the kids up, probably by about 3 years.

How old the Higurashi characters are is a topic that's led to quite a few debates, in both the English and Japanese fandoms. These days, the main characters' birthdays are fairly solidly confirmed - they're listed on the official Hou website, in the gacha card details in Higurashi Mei, and (apparently) in this official booklet (though note that this info first became public in Dece…
